We will be celebrating our wedding at the Secrets Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The resort is divided into two halves; the St. James side, and the Wild Orchid side. They are really one seamless resort with shared “common” areas. The St. James side is slightly more economical. Additional details below:
To help organize travel and accomodations for our wedding we are working with travel agent DEBBIE EKLUND. Her services are free of cost, and will allow you to receive the group discount rate. She can also help you with airfare if you wish. Debbie will price match quotes found elsewhere (equal dates and options). Of course, you are welcome to book any part of the trip on your own if you prefer. Rates quoted through Debbie include all taxes, gratuities, and transportation to and from airport. Optional trip insurance available.
Secrets Resort, Montego Bay is 2 resorts in one. Debbie has traveled to this resort and can answer questions regarding each location and accommodations (Please see additional details below):
*We have found that AAA offers great rates to this resort that may be better than our group rate.
* If booking flights on your own, don't forget about Southwest Airlines. Southwest usually does not show up on travel websites or other search engines.
* Secrets is an adult resort: 18 years and older
* The resort is located 20 minutes west of the airport.
* Two hotels, one seamless property. They mirror each other in structure (260 rooms in main, 90 in Preferred Club Building, including 4 master suites and 1 Presidential in each Preferred). Each main building has a swim up bar/restaurant.
* End to end is maybe a 10 minute walk (shuttle buses or golf carts are not required)
* Most of the common areas (6 gourmet a la carte restaurants (no reservations required), theatre, piano bar, nightclub.) are closer to Wild Orchid side...Spa/Fitness center and wider swimming beach are at St. James. Again, all areas are shared (except Preferred Club)
*Men dinner and evening attire: If you want to sit inside for dinner pants and closed-toe shoes are required. If you choose to sit outside for dinner shorts and flops are acceptable.
*The Japanese Hibachi is our personal favorite restaurant. ***This restaurant is the only one that requires a reservation.***
* Differences are in decor and location:
Wild Orchid- Rich colors/deep wood tones in the rooms. MOST views have sunset, all have ocean views.
St. James- British Colonial decor...lighter colors in the rooms. About half have sunset views, all have ocean views.
*** If you have questions regarding the resort please feel free to call us. We spent a week at this resort and are a great resource for you****
